Evening Prayer of St Brigid for Christian Unity

Date

February 08th

Location

St Patrick's National Seminary was delighted to host members of the community of the Church of Ireland Theological Institute on Thursday 8th February for Evening Prayer of St Brigid for Christian Unity. The homily was delivered by The Revd Canon Dr Maurice Elliott, Director of the CITI and he was joined for the occasion by The Revd Dr Mathew McCauley, Deacon at St Matthew's Church, Dublin and Associate Professor at Trinity College, together with five seminarians from Braemor Park. The theme for our prayer together was 'Planted in love and built on love' which is taken from St Paul's letter to the Ephesians and which emphasises what unites all Christians as members of the Body of Christ. May the faith of St Brigid, which rooted and grounded her in love, enable us to comprehend the breadth and length and height and depth of the love of Christ as we continue on the journey to unity in the fullness of God (cf. Eph 3: 18-19).
