Maynooth Campus

The Pontifical University has close links with National University of Ireland, Maynooth. The two universities share the same campus and cooperate in a number of important academic programmes. The campus is also the seat of the National Seminary.

Traveling by Car

The town of Maynooth is situated in north County Kildare. It is close to the borders of Counties Dublin and Meath. It is 15 miles/25km west of Dublin city centre, just off the N4/M4, the main Dublin to Sligo/Galway road.

Maynooth is approximately 7 miles/12km form the N3/M3, the main Dublin/Cavan road, and is approximately 13 miles/22km from the N7/M7, the main Dublin to Limerick/Cork road.

Travelling by Train

Maynooth lies on the Western Suburban railway line which serves the four Dublin city centre stations (Pearse Station, Tara St, Connolly Station and Docklands) as well as twelve other suburban stations; Drumcondra, Broombridge, Ashtown, Navan Rd. Parkway, Castleknock, Coolmine, Clonsilla, Hansfield, Dunboyne, M3 Parkway, Leixlip Confey and Leixlip Louisa Bridge, making it a quick and convenient way to get to The Pontifical University.

This railway line also serves: Sligo, Collooney, Ballymote, Boyle, Carrick-on-Shannon, Dromod, Longford, Edgeworthstown, Mullingar, Enfield, Kilcock.

Travelling by Bus

Dublin Bus

Maynooth is served by two Dublin Bus routes – the 66 and the 67. Both of these buses depart from Merrion Square in Dublin and run frequent services to the town. The 66x is an express service. Both bus routes are the same until they reach Lucan; from here the 66 travels to Maynooth via Leixlip, and the 67 via Celbridge. See the Dublin Bus website for full details or Dublin Bus 2017-2018 .

Bus Éireann

Bus Éireann operates daily services from: Athlone, Ballina, Galway, Longford, Mullingar, Sligo, Tuam and Westport. See the Bus Éireann website for more details.

Expressway

Expressway, Bus Éireann’s premium coach service, provides direct and regular services throughout Ireland. Expressway customers can now reserve their seat in advance on ALL Expressway routes with priority boarding for pre-booked customers. Seat Reservation is now available on Expressway.ie for Free Travel Scheme passengers. Customers can now pay on board using contactless, Apple Pay, Android Pay and TFI Leap Card.
