The community of St Patrick's College, Maynooth was delighted to be joined by large crowds of people to celebrate the Easter Triduum in the magnificent College Chapel. The College Chapel Choir and the College Organist Eoin Shanahan, under the direction of Dr John O'Keeffe, added to the solemnity and beauty of the highpoint of the Church's liturgical year over the three days of the Sacred Triduum.
Our thanks go to all who joined us on Holy Thursday and Good Friday and for the Easter Vigil. In a particular way, we thank the Seminary Council and Formation Team, staff and students of both the Pontifical University and Maynooth University, our Deacon, the College MC, the College Sacristans and Stewards, the Servers and Readers, the soloists, those who participated in the Washing of the Feet on Holy Thursday and those who proclaimed the readings and prayer of the faithful on all three days, as well as those who brought forward the offertory gifts.
Sincere thanks, too, to all who helped to prepare the College Chapel for the Easter Triduum, including Housekeeping and Maintenance Staff; Security and Health and Safety personnel; florists; and the Marketing Team for advertising the Triduum.
Once again this year, the liturgical celebrations which we shared in during the Easter Triduum delved deeply into the richness of the Church's musical traditions and sacred actions. Fitting worship was offered to the Father, through the Son, in the light and life of the Holy Spirit. Tá Mac na hOighe slan! The Son of the Virgin is alive! Alleluia!
