Are you studying at Maynooth, going into your second or third year of a bachelor's degree?

You have a special interest in European themes and would like to know more about the ideas that led to the expansion of Europe?

In collaboration with several professors from different European universities, the Pontifical University was invited by the European Federation of Catholic Universities (www.fuce.eu) to develop a program for a summer school. This summer school for bachelor students will take place from 5 to 9 July 2020 (with arrival on Sunday 4th and departure on Saturday 10th) in Gubbio (near Perugia and Assisi) in Italy (for a full outline of the programme click here).

Under the title "European Humanism in the Making", we reflect together with students from other European universities on the European project in its various dimensions: historical, cultural-literary, religious, scientific-philosophical. The theme of social institutions and citizenship is also discussed. The course participants thus gain a better understanding of what Europe can mean for us and for the future. This is done on the basis of changing formats and interactive sessions in a beautiful historical environment.

The school is made up of classes in the morning, workshops in the afternoon and public lectures in the evening. The students value the summer school as an enriching experience, and appreciate the multicultural exchange with open-minded persons from various religious, cultural and national traditions and the personal interaction with the teachers.
