CONFERRING CEREMONY – IMPORTANT GENERAL INFORMATION

Attendance at conferring ceremony:

You must confirm your attendance/non attendance at the conferring ceremony by completing the online form which can be found at the end of this page on or before 25th October 2019. Please ensure that you complete the online form fully.

Non Attendance at conferring ceremony:

If you are unable to attend the conferring ceremony, your parchment will be posted to the address indicated on the online form approximately two weeks after the ceremony.

Car Parking:

Parking is available in the designated car park on the south campus only. All motorists are asked to co-operate with any directions given by any steward or security in the management of the traffic and parking arrangements.

Gowns:

Phelan Conan Ltd. is the University’s Official Robe provider. All Graduands must pre-book their robes with Phelan Conan on www.phelanconan.com. You can book your gowns online up to 5th November 2019

Phelan Conan will be located in First Divinity Hall from 8 a.m. on the conferring day. The cost of gown hire is €37 for prepaid and €40 for pay on the day. If you are paying on the day please note: Payment is by credit/debit card, postal order or bank draft only. No cash or cheques are accepted. You must return your gown directly to Phelan Conan while they are located here in the Pontifical University. Please note that there are no cloakroom facilities for graduands and any bags or coats should be left with your guests.

Guest Invitations:

Each graduand receives one or two invitation tickets (depending on their programme of study) for the admission of guests to the conferring ceremony. Tickets are non transferable.

Please keep these tickets in a safe place as lost or mislaid tickets can not be replaced.

Admittance is by ticket only and entry is via the main door. Guests should be seated in the Chapel at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the ceremony. After this time admittance for ticket holders is not guaranteed. Children are admitted by ticket only.

Extra guests:

Will be allowed in provided that there is enough space in the College Chapel. Guests without tickets will have to join a non ticket holder queue and seats will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Photographs:

The official approved photographer on the day is Lafayette Photography for those who wish to obtain formal graduation portraits (prices range from €35). This service will be available in Middle Loftus. The service will be open two hours before the ceremony commences. In your own interest, be wary of unofficial photographers who may be present in and around the grounds. The College cannot guarantee the quality / service offered by such individuals. To avoid queues for order placement and payment on your Graduation Day you can pre-book orders for both photography and frames online at www.lafayette.ie

Refreshments:

A buffet reception, for Graduands and their guests (ticket holders only) will be served in Pugin Hall after the ceremony.

Parchments:

Please note that the name that will appear on your parchment is as per your result notice. Care should be taken of your degree parchments as they can not be replaced.

Tuition Fees:

You are requested to ensure that any outstanding tuition fees have been paid. Students will not be eligible to graduate if they have any outstanding fees.
